Haymaker Plus Hairy Vetch

Haymaker Plus Vetch was selected for its ability to produce large amounts of dry matter which makes it an excellent variety for hay and silage production.
Vetches are a good alternative for use in crop rotations for controlling cereal root diseases and building soil nitrogen.
The versatility of Haymaker Plus makes it particularly useful in crop rotations because it provides nitrogen for the following crop, and it can be turned into a green manure crop.

  Haymaker Plus Vetch
is a nutritious fodder, capable of fattening stock and increasing carrying capacity.
Haymaker Plus Vetch
is high in protein and has a high digestibility level.  Chemical analysis taken in spring has shown protein levels ranging from 19.5% to 25.8%.  It is at its highest protein content at early flowering with protein declining as podding progresses.  A mixture of vetch and oats grown as hay provides fodder with higher protein quality than oaten hay.
Haymaker Plus Vetch
is a winter active spring crop of high yield potential for hay and silage production or grazing.  The early growth is fine and prostrate, while the later is vigorous, producing a dense bulky stand.
Haymaker Plus Vetch
flowers earlier than Common Hairy: 126 days compared to 130 for Common.
Haymaker Plus Vetch adapts better to lower rainfall than Common Hairy due to superior winter growth and early maturity.

Haymaker Plus Hairy Vetch for profitable pastures.
